About Us

We hope you are enjoying our blog and that you find it helpful and inspiring. We have a passion for natural living, which is actually why we started Mat Su Sisters. Living without chemicals, preservatives and toxins can be really difficult and often times more expensive. It can be challenging and more time consuming to try and find or make natural alternatives to chemical laden food, house hold cleaners, body and beauty products. We want to offer you tips, tricks and inexpensive ways to live a natural, healthier lifestyle. :

We are Catholic and very involved in our church. Sometimes people look down on us because we are young and they think we are incapable. But, we don't let that stop us from participating in our ministries. Because, look, it is biblical "Let no one have contempt for your youth, but set an example for those who believe, in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity" 1 Timothy 4:12

Gardening is a big summer project for our family. We grow an organic garden during our short growing season. We really enjoy growing our own food and it is so much fun digging in the dirt, and it gives us a reason to go outside and enjoy the sun. :)

We have three horses which we love to ride in the summer, the winter too, but it can be awfully cold, which doesn't make for the most pleasant ride. We have 5 dogs (yes, we're aware, we are crazy), but we bred one of them and we fell in love with the puppies. We raise our own chickens, some for laying and some go to freezer camp and we raise our own pigs, which are delicious! :)

Both of us are advanced ballerinas. Glorifying God through our dancing and our bodies is one of our favorite ways to worship Him.

We are homeschooled. We are so thankful that our mom was able to stay home with us. We have a special bond with our mom, that I don't think we would have had, if she had not been able to stay home and teach us. She is the person who made us who we are today and we are so grateful for her.

Piano is the main instrument we play, but we play guitar, mandolin, flute and harp during our spare time. Oh, and we sing. Our family has a special place in our hearts for music and it is a wonderful way to praise God.

I (Becky) eat gluten free and avoid GMO’s and refined sugars when possible.

I (Megan) am on a very strict diet due to my not so great health history. I am on a diet very similar to AIP (autoimmune protocol). On occasion I eat organic quinoa, dairy in strict moderation and soaked cashews or macadamia nuts. But for the most part, I stick to fresh fruit, veggies and meat.

Now you know a little bit about us. We mainly blog on natural, toxin free living and food, but occasionally we will blog on some of our other interests. We hope God can speak to you through Mat Su Sister and we can be a beacon of hope to you.
